Travelling from “Knights Inn” down the coast was our next venture. Before we set off for our long road trip we ate loads of the free breakfast cereals coffee, apple juice and biscuits.
We drove in and out of Point Lobos National Reserve. It was $10 to get in and we didn’t have much time available today as we had planned a lot of travelling and a few places to visit. So we decided to skip this.
We drove through the Big Sur and enjoyed all the curvy and windy roads on route 1 which were brilliant and the view was great. There were a few roadworks along there due to the cliffs falling and covering the road in rubble. So they had big diggers/bulldozers clearing the roads.
We visited San Luis Obispo to grab a large coffee with a couple of donuts at the “Do Nut Co”. The best donuts I have had and pretty cheap around $5 or so all in.

We went to Elephant Seal Vista Point to take a look at the seals and there were hundreds. It did smell bad there because of them all.
The male seals have a small hole on the belly where their genitals go into their body and when they are required they come out.
We stopped at Morro Rock as a volunteer from where we saw the elephant seals recommend it. That was a nice view. We drove over there and saw the seals and also some ground squirrels. I fed one a piece of a biscuit and stroked one of them.
We drove to Pismo Beach to take a look around the pier and in a few shops. We played a game of table ice hockey. We also met another guy living on the streets once again.
We drove into Solvang for a very quick look at the swiss buildings.
We then drove to Santa Barbara we drove through it and stopped at “The neighbourhood” it had a nice atmosphere where people were watching basketball, baseball and playing ping pong. The double beef burger with cheese and fries was very tasty and cost $12.95.

We then booked out next place to stay and the cheapest we could find on route was one at Camarillo Executive Inn & Suites in Oxnard for £51.39 which was for two queen size beds with free breakfast, swimming pool and wifi.
